STEPS:

1. Mix all of the ingredients, except the cauliflower, with a little bit of water to make a thick batter. 


2. Dip the cauliflower florets in the batter.


3. Deep fry the cauliflower until the batter turns light brown.


4. Drain on paper towels.

INGREDIENTS:

2 Tbs Bengal gram dal flour

1 Tbs rice flour

1/2 tsp red chile powder

1 pinch baking soda

1 cup cauliflower florets

salt

oil


Cauliflower Bhajia [Indian Vegetarian recipe]

Cauliflower Bhajias make great appetizers and snacks. This is a popular South Indian recipe that is prepared often in Kerala and Tamil Nadu. Bhajias are pieces of cauliflower dipped in batter and deep fried just like the fried vegetables on most restaurant menus in the U.S. except the batter for Bhajias has more flavor. Try making them with mushrooms, onion pieces, potato, spinach (must be dried well before frying) or any other vegetable you wish. Bhajias will disappear as quickly as they are cooked!
